Scultpure
Inspired artist
For this topic I have chosen a artist named Dustin Yellin who lives in Brooklyn, New York. He is 41 years of age and was born in LA, California. Him and his mom moved to Colorado when he was 5, also where he attended high school, but left before graduation because he wasn't learning about what he wanted to do. He is known to work with many layers of glass and paint to create a 3 dimensional sculpture. His work came out to me because it is a glass figure and with the paint it makes it seem as if there was actually something inside. I like how he layers it to make 3-D. What also comes out to me is the color choices he uses. He has his own site which is http://dustinyellin.com/about/
Mini TileThe first thing I did during the process of making this mini tile was that i sketched out the design which is a flower and then I put saran wrap on top of my sketch and traced it with sharpie after that I rolled out a slab of clay and cut out a 4 by 4 clay square and then I put the saran wrap over my clay square and with a tool I went over my drawing that I had traced earlier with sharpie and then i carved out around the flower so that way the flower could look like it was popping out and after i finished they fired it and i chose to glaze it and I painted the background yellow, the middle of the flower light blue and the pedals of the flower dark blue, after that they fired it again and I got my finishing product.

Installation ArtI really like this sculpture because of the horse and the texture they used with the hair and how its all white and pretty
I liked this one too because of how they used the rainbow colors and how they used legs to come out of the wall thats really creative.

Final Exam
This year in creating my art work I've learned to use many different tools. Ive learned to use different clay tools like clay rib to smooth out my clay slab and the needle clay tool to make small details on my pieces and I've leaned to use other tools like an exacto knife to cut out small pieces of cardboard.
My knowledge for tools has changed alot since the beginning of the semester, ive learned how to use them and utilize them the right way. I learned the names and that they have many uses for different kinds of things. I learned the usage for different tools that i didn't know.
My favorite material this year was clay, even though at times it was hard to work with because you can mess up easy it was also one of the materials i found easier to make designs with and shapes with. I made most of my projects with clay. You can make more stuff then you could with cardboard, styrofoam and paper maiche. I learned to makes things with more patience and do it right. And my vessel piece was i think my most successful clay piece.
My least successful project would have to be my octopus made from paper maiche. i consider it my least successful because it looked the worst. I had trouble making the tenticles and making them even. I also had trouble sticking the head to the tenticles it kept falling off. The head was also lumpy and it was difficult to even it all out with the paper maiche. If i were to do it over I would use the same kind of bags to wrap around the tenticles that way some wouldn't be skinnier then the others and id try to take more time putting the paper maiche on the tenticles.
I think the installation project was the least important in learning the concepts in this course. Even though it turned out to be a neat project where the whole school could participate, I didn't learn much from it and the using of yarn, i think we could've done much more but i don't think the whole yarn concept is all that exciting. And i don't think there could much done with yarn like we could with other mediums or if there is i think itd be difficult to learn them and work with.
